India won inaugural T20 world cup in 2007. ICC Champions Trophy was scheduled to take place in 2021 followed by ODI world cup in 2023 in India. But cricket’s biggest governing council mulled champions trophy and introduced another edition of twenty20 world cup for 2021. The upcoming edition of T20WC is set to be hosted by Australia in 2020. India hosted 2016 edition as well which was claimed by West Indies. Inaugural ICC t20 world cup was played in South Africa in 2007.
On 29 June 2021, the ICC confirmed that the T20 World Cup would be played in the UAE and Oman. The tournament will take place in four venues: the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
ICC T20 World Cup Venue Country for 2021 is decided to be UAE and Oman. These two venues have been decided by the ICC and BCCI collectively. This new venue for the matches has excited the fans of cricket more and now more people will watch these live in the stadiums.
ICC held a video conference with BCCI on 8th August 2020 and announced that, India will host ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in October as planned. Whereas, Australia retained the hosting rights for the 2022 edition of T20 WC.
